We believe…
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God, fully sufficient and authoritative for all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21). It is the absolute and unchanging truth by which we live.
The Trinity
God is one Being, eternally existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and fully divine (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus Christ
God the Son, Jesus Christ, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified, and died as the atoning sacrifice for humanity’s sins. He was physically and literally resurrected on the third day, ascended to heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father. He will personally and visibly return to judge the living and the dead and establish His eternal kingdom (Isaiah 7:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 19:11-16).
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates, indwells, and seals all believers at the moment of salvation, empowering them for godly living and service (John 16:8-11; Ephesians 1:13-14; Romans 8:9).
Salvation
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is not the result of human works but is the free gift of God, secured by Jesus Christ’s finished work on the cross and His resurrection. Those who place their faith in Him are justified, adopted into God’s family, and assured of eternal life (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:23-24; John 3:16).
Spiritual Gifts
We believe the Holy Spirit empowers every believer with spiritual gifts. However, the seemingly miraculous gifts of tongues, signs, and wonders, as practiced in the modern Word of Faith, New Apostolic, and Bethel School of Ministry Movements are not normative for the Church today. We believe God continues to work miraculously according to His sovereign will, but the original apostolic sign gifts served a foundational purpose in the early church (1 Corinthians 13:8-10; Hebrews 2:3-4).
The Church
The universal Church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers, and is called to make disciples, baptize, and teach all nations. Local churches are autonomous and governed under the authority of Scripture, led by elders and deacons (Ephesians 4:11-16; Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Timothy 3:1-13).
The Return of Christ
We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the Church, followed by Christ’s visible, literal, and physical return to establish His millennial kingdom (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:1-6).
Eternal Destinies
We affirm the reality of a literal heaven and a literal hell. Heaven is the eternal dwelling place of the redeemed, while hell is the place of eternal punishment for those who reject Christ originally created for lucifer and the fallen angels for their disobedience in the days of Noah. (Matthew 25:46; John 14:1-3; Revelation 20:11-15, Genesis 6:1-4).
Ordinances
We observe two ordinances as commanded by Scripture:
- Believer’s Baptism by immersion, which symbolizes the believer’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4).
- The Lord’s Supper, a memorial meal commemorating Christ’s sacrifice, to be observed by believers until He returns (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
These core tenets are the foundation of our faith, rooted in Scripture and guided by the Holy Spirit as we strive to glorify God in all we do.
